CFS Computer Repair Technician (1 Position)

Description
Terms of Employment: Immediately for 12 weeks with posibility of extention.
37.5 hours per week.
Salary: $12.00 / Hour
Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island - Education Technology Center, 40A Burns Avenue.
Hours of Work: M-F, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Purpose:
The purpose of these position is to perform problem diagnosis, repair, upgrade, configuration and set up of refurbished computers which have been donated to the PEI Computers for Schools Program.
Duties:
1.Run diagnostic software and replacing defective components.
2.Install and upgrade computer components.
3.Install school image onto computer.
4.Apply all relevant technical standards and procedures.
5.Interpret technical manuals and documentation.
6.Document components of system on appropriate form.
7.Modifying configuration files for the receiving school.
8.Assist Provincial Treasury staff in setting up of computers on site.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
University degree or college diploma with major course work in computer technology or a discipline related to the position.
A+ Certification and Novell Certified NetWare Administrator (CNA) would be an asset but not required.
This position is funded through a partnership with Industry Canada called the Technical Work Experience Program. As a result, the following requirements apply to any applicants:
- Be between the ages of 15 – 30 years (inclusive),
- Demonstrate skills achievement at the post-secondary level,
- Be out of school,
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada,
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
